Enrolment

Carranballac P-9 College welcomes new students. All eligible students are enrolled at Carranballac P-9 College in line with DET guidelines. Student enrolment application packs may be collected from the Boardwalk Campus office between 8.30am – 4.00 pm Monday to Friday during school terms. Alternatively, please call the College Enrolments Officer to have the information emailed to you, phone 9395 3533.

As part of our enrolment procedure, families are given the opportunity to take a tour of the college with a Campus Principal. Tours allow parents to view the school, ask questions and share information about their children. School tours are conducted in small groups and both parents may attend, along with the prospective student and siblings. Please note that small children are to be directly supervised by the parent/guardian during the tour.

Tour bookings can be made for the following dates in 2026 and must be made at your zoned campus. Please call the College Enrolments Officer to book your tour, phone 9395 3533.

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Carranballac P-9 College.

The new timeline applies for children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2026. All government primary schools will follow the new timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets and the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers’, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Carranballac P-9 College from 20 April 2026.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school Carranballac P-9 College to book a school tour, pick up and enrolment pack, or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep)
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31 July 2026
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application from Monday 3 August 2026. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025
  6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 28 January 2027.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

2027 Year 7 enrolments

If your child is seeking a place in Year 7 at Carranballac P-9 College in 2027 and they currently attend a government primary school, they will receive the application pack from their current government primary school in Term 2 2026.  The application form needs to be returned to your child’s primary school and all communications about the placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at your child’s primary school until the placement is confirmed.

If your child currently is attending a non-government primary school you will need to download the Placement Information Pack for Non-Government School Parents and Carers (available from Term 2 2026). This will need to be returned to Carranballac P-9 College as soon as possible.

If your secondary school preferences include a school or schools that are not your designated neighbourhood school, you should read about School zones and how they work and how applications are prioritised using the Department’s Placement Policy.

You will receive notification of your child’s Year 7 placement in a government secondary school from Thursday 25 June 2026. More information for parents and carers can be found on the Department’s website Moving from primary to secondary school

Students who currently attend Carranballac P-9 College in Year 6 do not need to apply for Year 7.

All government secondary schools will host a Year 7 Orientation Day (for 2026 Year 7 students) on Tuesday 8th December 2026.

2027 Enrolments – all other year levels

While there is no statewide timeline for enrolling in years 1 – 6 and 8 – 9 for 2027, we recommend you do this as soon as possible from 20 April 2026 to ensure adequate time to source uniforms and attend any scheduled transition days that may be arranged.
